This really feels like Wired reached a conclusion before writing the article. The survey results aren’t amazing, but they’re a lot better than I’d have expected based on the article.

I’m not sure why you feel the need to generalise all women with this story, every woman I’ve talked to about this have been disgusted by what happened.

This should not come as a surprise. And to be honest, they have a point. The state of some European militaries while one of their neighbours is actively being invaded is pretty embarrassing.

A pretty big chunk of NZ is some shade of brown, so if that’s true, they won’t be happy about us being let in.

Possibly, but there’s no practical use for it in my industry, and everything I’ve seen it try and do has been, at best, mediocre. I’ve also noticed that the people who are most enthusiastic about it are never particularly impressive themselves.

Overall, I think it gets far more credit than it deserves, from both it’s fans and critics.

Stop giving AI more credit than it deserves. It’s not going to change the world, it’s not going to revolutionise industries, it’s going to keep spitting out verbose nonsense until we get bored of it.

AI learned to write like that from somewhere, remember that.
