If you’re sandboxing Google play services, you are, by definition, still installing play services. They are still running, but are sandboxed. So I don’t see how you see any less battery drain.

I run MicroG instead of the proprietary Google play services, and while I do see a bit ofl an increase in battery life for light usage, for medium and heavy usage it’s pretty much the same. Admittedly my battery is pretty old.

What do you mean? You can always use a distro like Steam OS (or any other Linux distro) on any x86 PC and still use a mouse and keyboard. Or use a Steam Deck and plug in a mouse and keyboard.

Matrix bridges are nice until you realize that you have to be a mod in the server to add the bridge, you need to do it not only for every Discord server you want to use on matrix, but every channel as well. It’s a huge chore. And ofc it doesn’t work with Discord DMs.

Not blaming Matrix or the matrix bridge developers here because it’s not their fault. But let’s be honest: matrix bridges are a pain to set up for Discord and for a majority of people aren’t worth the hassle. Moving to Matrix would be the better choice if at all possible

How did you ever get the controls mapped correctly? I LOVE Outrun 2, but my ZR /ZL were mapped to a single Z axis, meaning I can’t break and use the gas at the same time, making drifting almost impossible :(

Donkey Kong County Returns. Played it back when I was younger and it didn’t click with me. The platforming was too challenging and honestly I think I got too swept up in the hype around the game at the time.

Coming back to it later, I really appreciate it now. The music, animations and platforming is all sublime. It’s sequel, Tropical Freeze is my favorite 2d platfomer hands down. It’s an absolute joy to play

Maybe look into a used Thinkpad P series? They run Linux well, are typically more affordable than a new laptop which will definitely be 1K upwards, and have a 16 inch screen

I haven’t used Irfanview in a long time now. Personally, I think there are many better alternates for it on Linux now.

Qview is open source, cross platform, and at least for me on Linux, is faster than Irfanview. I’m also a big fan of KDE’s Gwenview.

If you need to do batch conversion, Converseen does the job well since it’s basically just a GUI for ImageMagick

Depends on the person. Most of the people I know who use MacOS, use it as a glorified Facebook machine. Outside of perhaps Word, they only use the web browser.
