  • Genuinely speaking, considering this same shit happened in other flus and other public health emergencies, and like look at the ebola thing in Africa rn…

I think most humans are just big unhappy about things they feel they can’t control, and want to ignore them until they go away. That’s played out historically with doctors just poo pooing germ theory because they didn’t understand how it could be the case, and didn’t care to look into it, even as their own patients died by the dozens.

and… Look… I’m very uncomfortable saying this because I don’t actually view people this way, but the dumber you are the less you understand the world around you and the less control you likely feel you have over things. The more likely you are to just be obstinate about shit if it goes against what you think you know. People are stubborn because they are stupid and don’t understand what they are fighting with and against. And unfortunately education campaigns aren’t a silver bullet, neither is literally anything, including over 100 years advancement.

  • I find that playing early access as a normal game, for some genres, is… idk, good? Better?

Like games like timberborn and whiskerwood and other base-building or colony-building games that I obsess over. Getting to try those in their early stages is awesome because people start modding them early just for a change of pace over what they already play. Then a lot of those mods end up being features in the game, which sort of makes the whole thing a group project, which is genuinely awesome. Probably also helps push them to 1.0.

If you happen to be a sort who likes mods, and like those sort of games, getting into them early can be a decent opportunity to influence the development path of the game, even if its only in a small way. And if you aren’t a modder, its low-key fun to watch how new features get added to the game as new versions come out.

As long as they are playable enough to mod, everything else can (and probably will) be added by the player base, even if the project gets abandoned, but that requires people playing them as if they were done - why would you mod a game you wouldn’t want to play for hundreds of hours?

  • I have cardinal fledgelings on three sides of my house. The’ve been yelling their dumb little heads off for multiple days now. I thought it was the adults because that’s all I’d been able to see, but then I saw a loud little baby in the barberry, and mama cardinal perched above me ready to throw down if I made a wrong move.

They are incredibly annoying, I’m guessing just one family, but I’m super glad my advanced druid yard has given them a good platform to grow and thrive.

Does it count as a home studio if you just don’t care how big of a mess you make and do things wherever you feel like?

Cuz I paint in bed. I do clay work on the carpeted floor of my spare room. I make beady things on the couch. Who cares if a paint drip gets on my table? Or blanket? I mean I have ruined so much clothing with paint over the years because I have no concept of “work clothes”, what’s a drip here or there?

Ironically I make more mess of my own self when painting walls than I ever have messed up the environment I’m painting… I don’t use painters tape or drop cloth, I’m just very good at cutting lines, but I’ll always ruin whatever I’m wearing to do it. For whatever reason.

Do you bother blind people about how they could experience the world if they were sighted, too?

Like its a moot point, idk what you hope to gain here other than being a dick about how your way is better when I have no way to ever know, and you can never see my point of view either.

    Thats not better.

Just because I’m not into what you are into doesn’t mean my life is lacking. You like chocolate, I don’t like sweets much at all but if I have to choose a flavor, I like the taste of un-flavored foods as much as I like a strong curry.

Same thing. You see my life as lacking because of what you think I should like based on what you like, but it’s plenty rich in ways that actually speak to what I like.

If you use a mobile client thats probably the cause. On voyager they look the same to me as well.

The apps have been heavily developed to fix the instance interoperability quirks, but a lot of users are on web where the ! link works better.

If you are already on web version then idk. My info might be outdated.

I ‘flirt’ because dudes assume thats what I’m doing when I’m just having a conversation, and panic when they treat it like flirting. Because it isn’t, ever, I’m ace/aro, keep your dick in your pants; I just like human connection.

But I’m also a chick magnet and I can’t explain that away with basic human decency…? I guess I give off vibes? I mean ladies are 1,000,000 more appealing than men, but I still don’t want to sex them (tried both, meh)
