Payback wasn’t the point, I was just providing some context. John Deere sucks for multiple reasons.

Most people know this recent history, but in case you missed it:
I like being able to check how busy a place is, but not like this. Simple head count or an average wait time is good. Using web cams is creepy overkill. Typical tech bro invasive shit.
Archived versions of the final publications are often saved by libraries and such, as others have pointed out.
As for the source files that went into production…that is a more complicated set of issues. The business may have gone into receivership and the legality of who owns what gets messy. You’ll need legit software licenses to use those files and many other details. If the publication ran ads, that could potentially be a factor, too.
I love both The Muppets and sick humor and don’t know what to do with this, either.
Always remember: law enforcement is legally allowed to lie to you, you are not legally allowed to lie to them.
Do you really need to know anything else?
It kills me that they can take up to 30 days to free someone who’s been proven innocent. How about right now, mother fuckers?
The legal system constantly using paperwork and bureaucracy to drag its incompetent feet is potentially going to destroy this country when 45 becomes 47.
Floppy, brightly-colored berets were popular in the late 60s and early 70s. I am unfortunately old enough to remember seeing some of them on the street, at school, on TV, etc. The character “Rerun”, played by Fred Berry on the show “What’s Happening!!”, wore a red one.
I really do hope to see more and more people migrate away from Windows to Linux. I truly despise Microsoft these days. But it’s not easy for everyone, or even possible in all cases, and for multiple reasons. (And, real talk, a lot of home users won’t care enough to bother).
This gentleman in the video link I’m pasting explains 3 reasons why he’s stuck with Windows. Some of these apply to me as well. And there are other reasons I’m still stuck, too. At least for now. So it’s frustrating when I see some of the knee jerk “just migrate, bro!” comments because 1. I agree with them and 2. some of us can’t. Not yet, anyway.
The furry community is very welcoming…or so I’m told.
I hate how hard they try to force you to use a Microsoft account with it. And yes, the hardware requirements are too stringent. Microsoft works hard at taking away agency from users and empowering the users’ corporate bosses and data miners instead.
On top of all that, it’s 2024, Microsoft…a lot of people are struggling to buy groceries or pay rent/mortgage. They don’t want to be forced to buy a new PC.
As for “just use Linux” crowd…you know what? I agree! And some people will migrate. But it’s going to be sort of like the reddit > Lemmy migration. Don’t get overly excited about it.
He’s clearly insane, but you’re right, it’s still interesting how his “logic” works.
It’s scary that these psychos think violence is the answer to their perceived problems. There’s a line from The Boys that talks about this, I’m paraphrasing: they would rather see themselves as warriors against “secret forces of evil” than the lonely forgettable losers they are.
It’s even more frightening to me that they live in some fantasy world where they think they can win a race war. Nobody here would win that. We’d all lose, and some other hostile nation would take full advantage of our domestic self-destruction. I’m worried it’s not a fringe notion. I’m worried a significant percentage are deluding themselves along these lines of violent planning.
As corny as it sounds…United We Stand, Divided We Fall…is still true.
Dancing: not allowed.
Drinking: not allowed.
Sex: Allowed within the confines of marriage. But don’t do it standing up. It looks too much like dancing.
F-Tier Bond villain.
No joke. This is a crime problem not a “EV bad, gas good” thing. I’m sure gas stations get ripped off / vandalized all the time, too.
Tangent, but I’ve been going down an Alex O’Connor and Esoterica rabbit hole on YouTube, and there are some very interesting things about the historical development of religion and the Judaeo-Christian Bible on those channels that really opened my eyes to how shoddy my education was on these topics. Modern scholarship has come a long way.
Begun, the Clone Wars have.
Sharks laughin’ at us talkin’ apes.
This might be your client app, maybe…? On Jerboa, tapping a post takes me to the lemmy comments first. Opening the link is a second deliberate tap.
