Usually around 74F in the summer but I’ll bump it if the temps outside hit the mid 90s. 64 in the winter, I like it cold. I run a portable AC in the master bedroom during the summer while we sleep. Bit of a story there.
I’m kinda surprised this wasn’t the original announcement. I figured it would just move to a paid feature. Maybe the initial tweet (or whatever the fuck we call an X) was just to get attention.
I hate how “hack” is used for any kind of breach. This is 100% credential re-use or a shit password:
The attackers appear to be using leaked credentials or brute-forcing to attempt to take control of a large number of LinkedIn accounts.
And
For accounts that are appropriately protected by strong passwords and/or two-factor authentication, the multiple takeover attempts resulted in a temporary account lock imposed by the platform as a protection measure.
That’s not to say LinkedIn isn’t a steaming pile of garbage, but to say this is a “hack” is disingenuous.
You should be smarter going forward. There is ZERO chance this is the end. Film companies are going to keep trying this shit over and over again hoping to get a bite. And it seems with the splintering of streaming services coupled with price increases lots of previous pirates are returning to their old habits.
Ghost in the Wires
I hope it does too! This seems like a great place for the community to thrive. That said, I don’t think I have it in me to mod again (at least not now). It’s been…hard to say the least. But yeah, we are sticking it out until the end! I posted a “give it up for day 14” meme on our Discord today, lol.
EDIT: Oh, and thank you for the kudos on the community! We really do appreciate it!!
Mod of /r/homeimprovement here. I don’t know that “keep” is the right word but we have built an amazing community over the years. The API changes rubbed us all the wrong way (as we all mod from third-party apps) but what really clinched it was the utter abhorrent treatment of us after we shut down. We are still shut down, and reddit continues to actively threaten UNPAID VOLUNTEERS. The free content and moderation is literally the only thing keeping reddit relevant. We are actively going to force reddit to replace us or backtrack. It will likely be the former, but at least we have made them work for it. It’s sad really…I love the community but I’m not going to continue to be free labor for a company that simply doesn’t give a single shit about us or their users.
I was going to say, coal remains around 1/3 of our electric generation worldwide (as of 2022): https://www.statista.com/statistics/269811/world-electricity-production-by-energy-source/
Coal can’t be reused, created, or otherwise obtained outside of mining. Until we remove our dependency on coal, mining will continue.
