I got that game recommended to me here, and I absolutely loved it. I just finished getting the last achievement this week.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater! After what feels like 20 years, I realized how bad I am and how I barely remember where anything is. I will say I happily landed a 900 today.

I gotta practice, but I’m having a great time with it. Just wish it didn’t have always online for single player.

Yeah, I enjoyed it a lot on switch and was considering double dipping for the steam version, but online only is a ridiculous requirement considering the switch version doesn’t have it.

Yeah I might. I miss some of the content from the original games too, like the cheat codes for flying and playing as spiderman. I’d also like to replay Tony Hawk 3

Yakuza 0. I think I’m doing something wrong because the resolution’s set to 720p with all sliders set to low and I still get 25 to 50 FPS.

I just got done burning myself out playing all the Metroid games in order. I’m gonna jump back in where I left off, but I got bored at Prime 2. I’ve never finished that one and I’ve never played 3, but all the side scrollers are perfect games if you ask me. I loved the original Prime too. That dark world, light world shit in 2 frustrates me, but I’m sure I’ll love it when I look back on it.

I’m a Metroid fanatic. I’ve played Super Metroid over and over again since I was 11. I still have my original copy. AM2R is also one of my favorite games of all time.

I’ve also beat Cuphead twice and got all achievements and S ranked every boss. I prefer it on my OLED Switch for the pretty screen (where I’ve done this 3 times), but the load times on the Deck outweigh the value of the pretty screen I guess. I might hit it again on the Switch though. That game is absolutely the greatest game of all time for someone with ADHD. Might just be me, but damn I love it.

I’m in the same place on Fallout 4 that I ended up on the Xbox. I have to betray one group or another to beat it. I can’t make myself do it. I was so sure I could.

What I’ve really been hung on is Red Dead Redemption 2. I never dreamed I would love this game as much as I do. It is absolutely one of the greatest games I’ve ever played. I am so attached to Arthur Morgan it’s unreal. I never played the first one and it breaks my heart that it wasn’t released on PC. I’m gonna find a way to play it on the deck if I have to emulate the Switch version (I’ll buy it on Switch if I have to, even if it’s the inferior version. I don’t have time for gaming that isn’t portable).

The only game I’ve ever played that had my heart like RDR2 is The Last of Us, which, despite the complaints, I fully intend to play again on the Deck eventually.

Like, holy shit! What a game! RDR2 might end up being my favorite game ever made. If you haven’t played it because riding horses and shooting revolvers doesn’t appeal to you, it didn’t appeal to me either. This game literally has me pining to be a part of that time and thinking about watching every western I can get my hands on. I literally never want to leave that world. I couldn’t stand the thought of it before I played it. I cannot praise it enough. If you haven’t played it, get it. Like, right now.

Metroid games are great, one of the first things I did when I first got my deck was set up Prime Trilogy. Prime 1 is the best of the trilogy, but when I replayed two recently I enjoyed it more than I remembered the first time. Some of the boss fights are truly amazing, a big step up from Prime 1. Prime 3 is more immediately enjoyable than 2, but the world feels a lot smaller and less interconnected.

I haven’t played much of the 2D Metroids on the Deck yet, but plan to play Samus Returns and AM2R since they’re the only two mainline games I haven’t played. Also feel strangely tempted to set up Prime Pinball.

I just played them back to back (again) starting with AM2R.

I definitely prefer AM2R, but some of the mechanics of SR are just absolutely amazing.

I loved them both so much, and even though they had the same story it really didn’t matter much. They were different enough that the experiences felt separate somehow.

My lady bought Dread for me when it first came out and I got lost and quit, but I can’t wait to start over. I was super busy at work and it kind of messed me up on it.

If you haven’t played it yet, get Axiom Verge. Hands down my favorite Metroidvania (that isn’t Metroid or Castlevania). It is a truly amazing experience. And of course if you haven’t played Castlevania: Symphony of the Night you are TRULY cheating yourself. Hands down one of the most spectacular games I’ve ever played. If I play it again (and I will) it will probably be the 9th or 10th time. Last time I beat it on PSP. Holy shit! What a game. Its the game that put “vania” in Metroidvania. It took everything Super Metroid did right and expanded on it. A different feel, but absolutely the same kind of game all the way to its core.

Dread is great, the smoothness of movement is so good that it kinda makes it hard to go back to the GBA Metroids. You mentioned getting lost, but one of my complaints with Dread is that it plays a bit too linearly compared with older Metroids. Basically everytime you get a new ability, there will be a path in your immediate vicinity afterwards that requires the new ability. That path will probably go through some areas you’ve already been in, but there will be a sequence of new rooms only accessible with your new ability that will take you directly to where you’re supposed to go next.

I don’t know how I got lost really. I remember this big machine and not long after that I was stuck. After I finish RDR2 I’ll probably load it back up.

Dead cells whenever I have a chance to fire it up. I wish there was a fix for the audio delay when bringing it out of standby

Have you tried the pause games decky plugin? You can set it to automatically pause games when suspending, and it fixes suspend related audio issues for a lot of games.

Almost done with Eternights. It has its janky moments but for a first game by a one person studio, it’s surprisingly good!

I’m also halfway done with Gato Roboto, it’s a great (but short) game where you play as a cat in a mech suit à la Metroid 🐱🤖

If you like Metroid get Axiom Verge. I originally bought it Xbox one. I liked it enough to buy a physical copy on the Switch for my collection.

I just learned there’s a part 2 as well. I haven’t played it, but I’m gonna get it on the Deck.

It’s been in my backlog for a while (it just keeps getting bigger & bigger…). I try to switch genre every now and then just so I don’t get bored of the sameness, but given the appreciation this received online and your comment, it’s been pushed to the top of that list haha :)

Well, I’m on my ROG Ally at the moment because of Game Pass, but I just finished up Cocoon. Can’t recommend it enough. If it has a story, I couldn’t tell you what it is, but as a puzzle game, it’s fantastic. I think it strikes that balance where you feel smart without it being frustrating. Portal does that too. This was my favorite puzzle game of the year, easily.

I’m sure I would love the rog ally, and like a dolt I paid for the 512gb Steam deck.

Ultimately though, the deck does everything I want. I don’t care for Windows so I’m happy it runs on Linux. I love the trackpads.

Still though, I’ve seen the videos that compare performance and I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t love the boost. I’m not sad about my choice, but I wish I had enough money to rock both of them.

Exciting times for handheld gaming, that’s for sure.

Cyberpunk 2077 and BG3, i started cyberpunk before the update with the new skill tree.

It’s interesting, different. i think i prefer the old skill tree and its leveling mechanic. However, in the first version V have a poor clothing taste, it was almost as her second job was being a clown in an hospital. And i didn’t understand why i couldn’t make a good suit.

So Devs corrected lot issue and i’m enjoying the ride even if the story has some problem with the spacing…The main quest and secondary missions doesn’t mix well, and i found out that Takamura could wait few weeks in basement until i finish few stuff. :)

I play at low rez. So it’s mostly blury but correct and i’m used to low res game. Gunning is fine, it’s smooth but i might be wrong as i don’t play shooter a lot so i can’t tell the difference.

I have some issue with driving car and the sound. There a kind of warp and i find hard to control the car. So i recommend a motorcycle, you can move easily between cars at fast speed.

I can’t aim very accurately with joystick, so i geared my build toward intelligent gun and lot hacking.

The new hack system removed the sneaking. It forces us to act quickly, launch other hack before jumping to the guning part.

And for the new area, i haven’t explored it yet so i don’t know how the steamdeck will manage it. I’m kinda annoyed because most game increase performance and it’s not always a good thing.
