Israel has achieved all that it can militarily in Gaza, according to senior American officials, who say continued bombings are only increasing risks to civilians while the possibility of further weakening Hamas has diminished.

With the Biden administration racing to get cease-fire negotiations back on track, a growing number of national security officials across the government said that the Israeli military had severely set back Hamas but would never be able to completely eliminate the group.

They learned nothing from our own bout in the middle east. If anything at this point they are simply creating more Hamas members.

I don’t think they care about that. The difference between the US in Iraq and Israel in Palestine is that the US wasn’t trying to annex Iraq. Israel is trying to annex Palestine. They’re fine with killing every last Palestinian in Palestine. To them, that would be preferable, because then they wouldn’t have to worry about a domestic insurgency. If people elsewhere are radicalized, that’s fine, because they’d have to come to Israel, and that’s much easier to deal with, especially with Israel’s strong border defenses.

Not to mention, Israel and AIPAC have the US by the balls, so they’d still be getting plenty of aid for defending their new territory.

Israel’s government wants to kill every person living in Gaza, it’s not that they are OK with it, it’s the whole point.

Sounds like job security for Bibi and the IDF, a continuing/recurring reason to continue the unspoken goal.

Part of the problem with the US approach was that the goal was independence and self-government for the occupied nations, and that didn’t work out even after 20 years in Afghanistan. Hamas will be back as soon as Israeli troops leave if Israeli troops leave, but my impression is that Netanyahu does not intend for that to happen.

Damnit, something’s wrong, everything I type keeps telling the truth! What the hell is going on? I’ll bet ~~Hezbollah~ the orphans and windows are behind this! What? Fuck, it’s happened again! It’s like I’ve been cursed God is punishing me!
