    Yeah man, those people are pieces of shit. I also extunguished many burning trash cans in my time.

    That’s why, back when I used to smoke, I had to be 100% sure the cigarette was not even warm (by touching the end with my finger) before throwing it out.

      Even then, smokers need to make it a habit to throw it into an ash tray. I do not give a single fuck as to how well it’s put out, it belongs into an ash tray.

      Some things deserve a zero-tolerance policy, and this is one of them.

        Of course, if you mean the ash tray on some trash cans. A normal ash tray, like the one on a table, however, will still get emptied into a trash can.

          See, the problem I have with this is that a smoker might read this and all they see is it all goes in the trash anyway, so why bother

          Sentiments like these are exactly what we should be trying to dissolve and work against.

            To be honest, if someone is stupid enough to throw burning things into the trash can, I don’t really think you can make them change their mind.
