WASHINGTON (AP) — A New Jersey man who authorities say was on his way to Ukraine to join a volunteer fighting unit has been arrested in an alleged plot to attack a U.S. electrical substation to advance his white supremacist views, the Justice Department said Thursday.

Andrew Takhistov, 18, was arrested Wednesday at the Newark Liberty International Airport, where he was headed to Paris before going to Ukraine to join the Russian Volunteer Corps, a pro-Ukrainian group fighting Russian forces, officials said.

Authorities say Takhistov began talking in January with the person he did not realize was an undercover agent, and he began discussing a plan to attack an electrical substation. They drove together to two electrical substations in North Brunswick and New Brunswick, New Jersey, and Takhistov provided information on how to construct Molotov cocktails, the type of clothing to wear and where to park to avoid detection, authorities said.

      Here’s a hint, Fox News.

Though that’s just one major contributor to conservative propaganda. There are more extreme conservative propaganda stations that push even more ridiculous lies, hate, and falsehoods daily.

I don’t think its super likely that the US escalates into full civil war, but if we did, Historians would probably put the start date somewhere before the current date. These types of stochastic attacks always share similar motives. From the guy who tried to blow up a 5g tower to the guys shooting up groups of POC or LGBTQ.

I think it’s supposed to be for Russians who disagree with Putin and want to fight back.

There was a similar unit in the second world War made up of Germans but I do not know what it was called.

This idiot doesn’t know a damn thing. White power is supposed to be establishing a hierarchy of societal change that favors ethnic cleansing and genocide, not a power company.

Blowing up an electrical substation seems to be a weird objective anyway, he’s going to piss off his “own people” as much as anything else.

Was just worrying if we were due for one of these:

Over the course of 19 minutes, about one hundred bullets caused $15 million dollars in damage to our power grid, damaging components that take months to manufacture: 2013’s Metcalf sniper attack near San Jose, California

Edit: sheesh! Happened AGAIN in 2022!

Moore County, NC: Gunmen shot up two power substations. 40K customers lost power. Took days to fix. FBI had warned about extremist threats to grid. Investigators found shell casings, offered $75K reward. Theories: anti-drag show motive or generic extremism. One lady died when her oxygen machine stopped (homicide). Schools closed, curfew imposed. NC governor pissed. White House “monitoring.”

Nothing makes white people support racism quite like cutting them off from electricity for however long it would take to fix the damages. /s

What is it with racially charged hate groups and damaging things that affect the people they supposedly are fighting for? I wouldn’t be surprised if groups like white supremacists are more than willing to sacrifice white people in order to further their goal but are too pansy to sacrifice themselves. Sounds right up their wheelhouse, those neanderthals.
