Valve fixing EGS on Linux is exactly why im OK with them getting a bigger cut than EGS: they actually build support systems around things instead of just being the point of sale and then disappearing.

Generally, they offer a giant infrastruture that no other game selling platform offers:

      • cloud saving
      • community hub for sharing user content
      • inbuilt forum
      • mod database
      • better shop visibility through intelligent algorithms
      • community events like NEXT fest

overall, you get what you pay for.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Valve has released an update to Proton Experimental to further improve the Windows game compatibility on Steam Deck and Linux PCs.

Gungrave G.O.R.E no longer has hitching video playback.

Fixed Apex Legends hanging on a black screen after a recent game update.

Fixed Descent 3 not being playable on system using long Steam Library paths.

Also interesting to see Valve fix up the Epic Games Store in Proton like this.

You can just select Proton Experimental in the Properties -> Compatibility menu on each game.

Warlords Battlecry 3 works now? Nice, I was trying to get it going a couple of years ago and gave up.
