Hi everyone! We spent the last two years of our spare time building Hanti, a marketplace for handmade crafts. It’s like Etsy, but focused on the EU market.
We launched Hanti in Sweden a year and a half ago (spring 2025), and currently there are ~320 sellers on the site (all from Sweden) with almost 4000 unique products. Last week we opened up Hanti for the entire EU, and now we welcome sellers and customers from all 27 member states.
What are the main features of Hanti?
- Low and few fees for sellers: Sellers pay a 5% platform fee on all orders, as well as any transaction costs. Everything else is free. No start-up fees when creating a shop, no fees to publish products, and no monthly fees.
- Free from algorithms: Products are listed in a chronological order, by default newest products are shown first and oldest last. No algorithms that decide what you see - all sellers have the same chance to be seen in product lists and search results.
- No AI, no dropshipping: All AI-generated content is banned on Hanti. Dropshipping is not allowed either. We only accept products made by the sellers themselves.
- Buyer protection: All orders have to be manually accepted by the seller within three days from purchase, otherwise you’ll get your money back (protects you from inactive sellers). You also have the right to get your money back if the order is not shipped in time.
- Buy directly from the seller: Hanti is no middleman between buyer and seller, we only handle the marketplace. When you place an order it goes directly to the seller, who also processes and ships your order.
- Hosted in the EU: Hanti is developed and hosted in Sweden. All data is handled within the EU (except for payments which are managed by Stripe [and Mollie] for now).
- All sellers are verified: We manually verify all sellers before they can publish any products.
We have more features planned, and will add more countries later on. Questions and feedback is welcome if you have any!

Looks good. If I had one advice… Please don’t ban people that use vpn like those etsy aholes 😀
We don’t ban VPNs/Tor/proxies, and hopefully it will stay that way :)
I love your work! Clean, simple, esthetically nice. I am interested to do a part !
I noticed that sellers make descriptions in native language without possibility of English. I did copy-paste and translated on my own,but would be grate if it’s possible to see English too.And I ask here- bath salt ( Epsom salt with essential oils) is on prohibited list or not? And one more question: I live in EU, but I have bank account outside EU (non Schengen zone) is it possible to register at your website with accout like this ?
Thanks! Sellers can translate their products, but not all have done so. We’re working on adding translations to shop pages too.
Bath salt is allowed as long as you make/blend it yourself. It should be possible to use a bank account outside the EU.
Very cool. Just had a look . Two questions/suggestions:
- display pricing in eur
- first object i got “the is unavailable “ but without why. Shipping restrictions? At has run out? At least tell me why .
You can choose language, currency and country at the bottom of the page.
If you don’t have a country selected you see all products, even those that you can’t purchase. It should find the country you’re in automatically, but if it doesn’t work then you need to choose it manually. We’ll see if we can improve the messages. Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you! Now i see it. I guess i am used to the currency / land selector being on the top of the page.
This is great - is it just the EU currently, or wider Europe? I ask as someone from the UK
Thanks! It’s just the EU countries (member states) at the moment, but we’re working on adding the UK and Norway soon. Can’t say an exact date yet unfortunately.
Great, thank you :)
Also, sorry about Brexit. Literally not my fault.
and Switzerland? 😬
Yes, it will be added too!
Such a wonderful initiative! I will share this among my friends!
This is awesome!
