The dark cloud of crippling social anxiety crowding in like it own the place when those good thoughts get too comfy.

    Hey look, it’s meeeee

It doesn’t matter how great the conversation is, as soon as I leave my brain starts trying to find what I said that could have come across as weird. And then I hyper fixate on that until the next time I see them, the conversation is normal, and it starts all over again

I just sang Weird Al’s You Don’t Love Me Anymore at karaoke in a bar full of people who probably never heard it before. I’m practicing to do Albuquerque soon.

      Be weird!

Ah the good ol social anxiety…

I don’t speak with people, I feel lonely and like a loser

I speak with people, I feel like I’m just an annoyance and people don’t really like me

they think you’re cringe and annoying

    reality

they thought about what it would be like to fuck you at least 7 times during your conversation

back when I was still of dating age I would imagine what it would be like to be with them if they were bald from chemo. kind of fucked up, but it allowed me to at least understand if I wanted to be with this person at the worst moment of their life.

eventually my brain just started doing it for everyone I met 😅

I’ve learned overtime that the dark cloud is trauma, and it needs deconstruction. Open conversations are just that. Let the other person know next time:

“Thank you for musing me the other day when we [expand] that friendly conversation. I enjoyed it, and wish we could do this again some other time you are willing to. Here is my personal card🙇‍♀️‍🐶🤲🪪”

Deconstruction of my post traumatic social anxiety took a very long time, having been ostracized several times in my lifetimes.
Technically still am, but I hope to fix it once I am in Luxembourg|Iceland.
    I hate to 建前.
