4MB on Android. Sounds like it’s just the ROM and an emulator. Nice for the icon if you’re a fan, but probably easier/better to just run an emulator. Plus you can get a ROM hack that fixes the game (I assume). For my time it’s gotta be the second one, Simon’s Quest, which is practically the blueprint for how all the good Castlevania games have been made since (refined in Symphony of the Night and perfected in Aria of Sorrow, with the best one being Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night on PS4/5, XB1/XSX, and PC.

Yeah I glanced at it but those controls don’t look great, would be better to run the ROM in a proper emulator with a controller IMO.

First Castlevania is a classic, though you did just remind me that Simon’s Quest is a classic in its own right. That day/night cycle they implemented in the game was great, might be the first side scroller I played that did time passing like that.

Everything before rondo of blood is mid and everything after is hit or miss. Rondo is the sweet spot.

What do you mean? The app doesn’t even request network permission.

Obviously not lol. Anything non-standard in there that can actually be enforced by an offline app which can’t report whether or not you click “accept”?
