At least Xbox and PS controllers share a nearly identical input map. It’s not like most people are trying to play Dark Souls with a N64 or NES controller and struggling to read input directions.
But I guess to caveat myself, the age of jumping different controller layouts is largely passed. Can’t remember the last time I went from GameCube to PS to something different.
I go from switch to PC(Xbox gamepad) a lot. Nintendos insistence on requiring the right face button to be Accept is torture. I’m cool with every other controller change, but that still gets me.
