Americans will be rethinking sanctions on other countries when they see who is actually suffering.

Unfortunately it likely won’t be the billionaires suffering, so I’m not sure how much meaningful rethinking will be going on unless pressure on them is relentless.

These tariffs are already wildly unpopular in the US, the problem is that our government has been fully captured by the nazis and there’s not much that can be done about it. Most people I know sre hoping that the international response will be harsh enough to spur meaningful change, though nobody really thinks that will happen.

It’s weird because I was watching the markets today and they seem completely irrational. It should have dropped a lot more today, but really didn’t. I don’t know if this is just the calm before the storm - stocks at near ATHs before the Donald-created Great Depression or lots of speculators are just hoping that donvict carves out just enough exceptions and is bluffing in other cases, etc…

Yeah, exactly. To others, please don’t group all Americans together in this shit show. “Americans” aren’t doing this, our clown of a President and his people are.

and there’s not much that can be done about it.

That’s true in the sense that the range of possible remedies has shrunk drastically. It does not mean we can’t execute the remedies that remain, however.
