I download most of my music with slskd which uses the soulseek network. And I try to support as many artists as I can by purchasing merch.

The reason is probably to garner as much brand awareness as possible bc the goal of marketing isn’t to just get a point across. If a company like DDG can gain a good amount of brand awareness by advertising and selling some relatively inexpensive sunglasses with the company logo on it then I personally see it as a net positive.

Sounds like there’s something wrong with your setup. I just disabled authentication in my config file and got the expected result. I copy/pasted the snippet below so just double check that’s what yours looks like. I also don’t have to login every time (except after a container restart) when auth is enabled as long as I check off the remember me box.

I’ve used FreeIPTV a few times. The accounts expire after 24 hours but you can make a new one every day if you want and there’s no sign up, just a click of a button. I haven’t looked through the channel line up much since I’ve only used it when there’s a specific show or event I know I wanna watch. There’s a shit load of channels though so worth checking out if you haven’t done so already.

I also found it on the Awesome IPTV repo a while ago. Might be worth checking that out as well.

There’s a pretty good chance the Linux issues you’re having are actually Raspberry Pi issues. I’ve had to do so much more tinkering with SBCs to get things to work compared to x86 systems
