He’s getting the copyright back, but not the trademark. Tbh, I think it would be way cooler if we got a “new” Ultima game in like 2005 than today.

Nice to see, but an OpenGL version would be even better. I want to be able to use DX11-era hardware to play DX11 games on Linux, dammit.

Here’s hoping EA does this with Origin, next. I wanna play Titanfall 2. I had heard it was supposed to run well in Linux, but I ran into problems the last time I tried installing it. IIRC, I ended up buying it on both Steam and Origin just to try and get it to work.

Why does Nvidia insist on using that shitty connector anyway? They should’ve stopped using it years ago.

I’m pretty much the same except for the last part. I’m no stranger to opening dozens of tabs and seeing my RAM usage go up, but instead of leaving them open long term, I’ll bookmark some and use Tab Stash to stow away the rest.
If I kept all my tabs open long term, I wouldn’t have enough RAM to do anything.

What I really wanted to know was why you were using a lower resolution for 2D games, but it turns out you’ve already gone over that in a different comment.
IMO, low resolutions for 3D are still valid particularly if you don’t have a recent GPU, and the idea that 1080p is “too low” for some modern games honestly really bothers me. I feel like 720p should be enough, and that developers are doing something wrong if they can’t scale their UIs to fit that properly.

I’ll never understand people who use browser tabs as bookmarks. Tabs are meant to be temporary.

What’s the point of using a lower resolution if not for demanding 3D games? Unless we’re talking 240p for CRT gaming, but that’s a whole different thing.

I can’t wait for people to STFU about this game.

Hot take, developers should start optimizing for 4GB of VRAM or less. I’m personally just fine with a 7th-gen console level of detail at 1080p60, and I’m even willing to settle for 720p30.
Then again, most of the games I play these days are literally from the 90s, so what do I know?

Likely the result of them using AI in the development process, even if they claim it’s “just for reference”.

Holy fucking shit, it’s about time. I would’ve loved to see this 10 years ago, but better late than never.
Maybe I’ll start digging into more of my GOG library once this is out. Yes, I’m aware Heroic exists, but I’ve never been a huge fan of it.

They don’t like it when you ask them for parts lists. They also don’t like it when you tell them you don’t like tempered glass case panels because you worry about them breaking. :P

It pains me that people are like that. Working with computer hardware really isn’t that scary unless you’re cracking open a CRT monitor or a power supply for whatever reason.
I’d like to think that more people would be able to work with computer hardware if they simply set aside their fears and preconceptions and were willing to learn a few things, but like I said before, there are plenty of people who see computers as “magic boxes”.

They bragged about vibe-coding this, didn’t they?
