  • This is the only reply of currently 40 that tries to honestly answer the question and of course it is down voted. People are not reading this post for honest takes, just gripes about “brainwashing”, “ignorance” and “neoliberal conspiracies.” It’s basically an eco-chamber of grievance. It’s pretty easy to make an argument for any position, and no one else even tried.

  • This is the truth. 4 years with a Chevy Bolt EUV and so far I have only replaced the tires and windshield wiper fluid. As someone who worked on several ICE cars for 2 decades, it’s kind of a dream to have so few things that can go wrong. The number of moving parts in a EV is a couple magnitudes less than an ICE car.

People don’t account for the time I am not spending at gas stations sniffing fumes every week or getting oil changes. The handfull of times I don’t charge at home are a fraction of time spent dealing with ICE routine maintenance.

The only thing I am slightly worried about is that my car has 3 coolant loops, which is one of my least favorite repairs.

  • Switzerland has tec-9’s, AR-15’s, AR-10’s, high capacity magazines, and bumpstocks right? Or do they have reasonable gun control? I don’t even need to look this up…it is obvious.

I’m just going to agree with you that the US would be way better off with Switzerland’s quite reasonable gun laws. Permits required for everything that is basically not a bolt action or break action hunting rifles. That is great. That is probably why they have 1/4th the number of guns per capita as in the US, and I am willing to bet most those guns only hold one or two rounds) and not 9+.
