9·17 days agoIm assuming you’re not just being a smart ass, and will give you a real answer:
The human body can be extremely resilient. If you are required to kill someone but not allowed to intentionally prolong the death or inflict unnecessary suffering, you must be really precise. The law is written that way to prevert torturing someone before their death.
In this botched execution, witnesses said her arm was purple and there were 7 sites that needles were used. Imagine attempting to injected a substance into someone’s bloodstream 7 times and failing each time. All those liquids have to go somewhere, so it just absolutely ruins everything it touches loose in the body. She complained that her arm felt like it was going to burst. That to me is unnecessary suffering.
If they really wanted to kill someone nearly instantly they would have some type of blast chamber and use enough explosive that someone would basically be exploded in fractions of a second. But somehow that seems messy and barbaric compared to torturing someone like the state did last night.

3·1 month agoMy cat was 19 and basically only hung out in like 1 room and felt safe there. She randomly came out and jumped on the couch and went all over the house and like 5 days later she was limping and passed overnight after bringing her home from a vet visit.
“Oh sure, but I’ve come to really like frozen yogurt, there’s something so human about taking something and ruining it a little so you can have more of it.”

2·1 month agoI bet kids today don’t even understand the original concept of everything being offline that you would have software to download episodes of podcasts from RSS feeds and automatically upload them to your iPod on the next sync.
Like you had to plan ahead before leaving the house. There were definitely times I was late leaving the house because I was waiting for my iPod sync to finish so I would have podcasts to listen to on my commute.
It was so small and unique. The daily source code was kind of the “look at this cool thing” of podcasting back in the day.
3g data really shifted podcast long from its original form to an on demand model.
Crazy how different and mainstream it all is now.

They never built a clip art data center in my backyard.
Plus you still had to creative use the clip art. So there was human assembly there. Plus a human most definitely created the clip art in the first place.
So overall, not really the same
