“Then they came for me”

While changing people’s views when they’re antagonistic to the ideas shown is an uphill battle, it may help still to those quietly reading the comments.

Also tried checking the post but every Redlib instance I tried is broken, like Reddit itself broke something. RIP.

Mbin. Totally not biased. 🫣

On UI: dunno if it’s a me thing, but it would seem to me as that every site’s bad until you get used to it. Piefed for example I find kinda bloated but once I learned where to look, it became much easier to use.
On avoiding content: yeah, requires some patience people usually don’t have to block everyone and every place that lowers the quality of the user’s feed.
On slower feeds: maybe an autism thing, or maybe because in Mbin, I consume both threads and microblogs, but I feel the opposite, too much to see, enough that I am forced to curate.
On seeing posts again: a bit of a tangent, but both Lemmy and Piefed have post-hiding features. The option is “hidden” in the 3 dots menu of each post, which would imply people are forgetting these 3 dots mean “more options”? Perhaps in this line, having a “more” button like on Mbin would be better?
On porn: FediNSFW. 🕵♂
On being complicated: migrating and integrating usually is, but if you do, you need to bear with it.
Would make those comments there if I still had access to my account. Oh well.

Too long and seemingly structurally disconnect, so mind started to slip, but from the points I was able to catch, sounds like those anonymous boards of old I hear about. Iirc there has been an implementation of that in the fediverse already, though it’s been some months so can’t remember the name.
If the design’s boring and copy-pasted everywhere, how could people grow attached to their houses? Furthermore, if people had to go to apartments, like for unwieldy prices for years now, they would be desensitized on the part of losing the house.

Imo as someone who sees console modding as an act of self-defence as well as a fun hobby of tinkering (plus not being a fan of online multiplayer or DLCs), I’d say “hold it” and hope someone makes a payload for running games in older firmwares than the ones they demand.
…Or emulate PS5 on Linux on PS5 😬

Unsure tbf, though something comes to mind.
Maybe “we don’t want to accept conservatives”? I know of a guy, tech journalist with conservative views who tried Mastodon before but got banned twice, and then migrated to a Nostr-first instance with ActivityPub support, where he hasn’t been banned even after months. If his case is an example, maybe people on the other protocol are more accepting of different views?

Switch games work quite fine on the Switch 2, and RPGs aren’t usually demanding on frame rate, so I wonder what incentive players would have to get the NS2 version specifically.
Redlib if you must keep using Reddit. If not, alternative forums, fediverse included, invite you.

Not familiar tbf
Unfamiliar with off-brand controller compatibility with the PS5, with the system being either modded or unmodded. But maybe worth investigating of 8bitdo controllers work? There’s some smaller ones in the market, like inspired in the NES and SNES controllers.
If that’s the case, I wonder if #Reddit announcing they’d kill #RSS, killing Old Reddit, and demanding login and registration verification has anything to do with it.

Did a quick search and found that the groups seems to be in a few other places:
Imo if the person moves the responsability to a third party, he should still be responsible for what happens. The wait sounds reasonable to me, as then people can see how responsible the dev or “dev” shows to be towards the project he is managing.
And by that, it allows separating those just using LLMs as additional tools, from “adventurers” (local expression for people that do things without a plan), scammers and asset flip users going for an even quicker buck.
And that with anachronism. It gets worse if considering that after 15 years, shopping cart projects with permissible licenses had become a reality.
Besides the recommendation to drop sites that demand privacy-breaching validations, seeking the legal venues is important too, else people will just lose ground as they try to avoid the issue.

Just saw it’s a 3 years old post. Sorry for the necro. My instance’s misbehaving a bit on post sorting.
Keeping the comment though, in case someone finds it relevant.
