I totally get that, and I was definitely not trying to gatekeep. I apologize if I came off that way, cheers and love what you love and keep rocking!

I apologize if my last post seemed dismissive, I’m a lifelong hardcore fan. Like old enough to buy Minor Threat out of step when it came out.
I edited my first post to add links for context for the bands I named, if I had the time I would add hundreds more, cheers!

I think of the 90’s as us trying to continue the optimism and work that was put in during the 60’s to create a more egalitarian society, while having some of the wild of the 70’s and trying to recover from Reaganism of the 80’s. And not having the daily threat of nuclear annihilation. While allowing the rise of unbridled corporatism.
While Clinton did a lot of work to balance the budget and had the debt paid off, he also passed the telecommunications act of 93 that allowed consolidation of media. Namely I heart radio.
Before him cable providers were required to allow public access, and only 1 owner of a single am/fm (pick one.) station with 1 television station in a market.
Now you have Sinclair as a direct result.

I consider that NYHC style stuff meathead macho hxc, and not fully representative of hardcore as a whole.
Like punk there is a spectrum of sounds, scenes, and subgenres.

There aren’t really any boundaries.
You have: American hardcore Powerviolence Crust Euro hardcore
And about 100 other subgenres, that have their own styles. It’s mostly just energy speed and pissed off.
For example bands like Brain Tourniquet, storm of sedition, fentanyl, candy apple, tower 7, kinetic orbital strike, kohti tuhoa, extortion, Woodstock '99, Doped Up, and my current obsession 偏執症者 (Paranoid) all fall under the Hardcore label but all sound distinct from each other.
Edited to add links to band pages

Find and join your local credit union! Ditch the big banks, most offer interest with no minimum deposits, give free atm access at affiliated institutions. And a lot of the time give much better interest rates on loans while keeping that money in the community.

He would have loved this!

Can confirm recently got a box of 440 unsoldered Micron DDR5 memory ICs at work.
It was $140k. Not DIMMS but the chips soldered to the DIMM.
Wasn’t sure whether you were using mobile or not.
I have Wikipedia set to ask to open links to Wikipedia on my phone. I thought it may have been something like that.
If you have Wikipedia set to open browser links that’s most likely what happened.
That is if you have the Wikipedia app installed.

Ars Technica had an article about it recently:

Old reddit is now forcing an account.

GRBL
Depending on the controller board yes. Lightburn is more than control though, it’s also design/preparation/GRBL gcode generation for the job.

You can also run klipper on them if you want network connectivity. Granted you need a raspberry pi to run klipper so there is that.
After running klipper on my Ratrigs I can’t even consider Marlin anymore. Modifying a config file and restarting is less painful than having to compile and flash a bin for every modification or update.

I’ve printed and given away about 150 of these so far
Compact, strong, easy to print, and loud!

Speaking of renters I’m looking at my whirlpool washer/dryer. Old ass dishwasher, stove, and fridge. Nothing smart and all knobs. The dryer is the newest because our old Kenmore finally died a couple of years ago, but all of the controls are mechanical.
