  • It uses the battery from whatever device it’s plugged into via usb-c. I haven’t noticed a big battery impact difference between the on board screen and the glasses. I have my ROG allyX (running bazzite) set up to turn off the on board screen when the glasses are plugged in.

They do get warm during long sessions, but not uncomfortable. Especially when compared to holding the ally up and looking down at it. You can rest it on your lap and look in any direction.

The entire reason I’ve ever bought consoles and games was because I could get used games at a bargain and also sell my old consoles and game collections when I’m done with them. I can’t imagine that I’m the only person who looked at it this way.

Now console producers pull shit like this when they can’t even claim to be more user friendly than PC because SteamOS is a real competitor.

Well I guess it was good while it lasted, at least until the last few years when greed fully took over. Microsoft is already on it’s last leg and Sony and Nintendo are going to follow eventually.

I guess I should have been more specific. I was talking about what the DOJ has released since Trump’s second term.

As far as evidence of tax evasion or anything not related to trafficking, that’s not what most people mean when they refer to the Epstein files. To me that seems obvious, but maybe not to everyone else.

We all know Trump is crooked and corrupt. He’s doing it in plain sight. What people want is evidence of powerful and wealthy people involved in sex crimes with underage women. If any evidence of that kind exists, it’s not being released or at least has not been released yet.

That’s because the DOJ hasn’t released any actually damning information. They released enough to fuel further conspiracy BS (ugh the jerky thing is so embarrassing for those morons that bought into it), but there’s no way they are going to release our disclose anything that is doing to harm those they are trying to protect. That shit is buried or destroyed if it ever existed in the first place. Only chance we will see anything real is if Trump’s folks kept evidence they can use as leverage or blackmail in the future.

It sucks to be used to train an AI, but I don’t want to use an Internet without some kind of human verification for some endpoints.

If you think it sucks trying to buy high demand stuff like concert tickets or new game consoles, imagine if every service was instantly at capacity. Captchas absolutely don’t stop all bots, but they are effective at slowing things down to a more human speed.

The worst thing is that Google has a near monopoly on this technology and they are starting to use it offensively to maintain their monopoly in other areas like what they are planning to do with requirements for play services for captchas so folks using custom roms get locked out of sites/apps. We gotta get developers to ditch the Google captcha services and use alternatives.

  • Neither of my parents have any kind of savings at all, they basically only ever made enough to get by. My mom gets a very meager stipend from being a teacher. They both retired this past year and are drawing social security. It’s already really tight for them. I know when they get older I’m gonna have to sell their houses to make sure they have enough money to live on and the medical care they deserve. No idea where they will live at that point. Isn’t America great? Work hard your whole life to struggle to make it when you’re too old to work…
