  • I remember growing up, one of my dads friend ran like a pirated blockbuster. We would go to his house, and he just had bootleg movies on vhs, ps1 games, music, anything you wanted.

I remember it like it was wall up and wall down in every room of the apartment, but thats probably just my childhood memory version lol.

I remember getting my first ps1 for Christmas, already chipped (something you had to do before it could play pirated games, i dunno) and going to this guys place to pick out games.

None of the games had covers, they just came on cd’s, with the title written on the disc. And like i was 7 or 8 years old, i didnt know any games, so i just picked a bunch of randoms, and my dad made sure to get a few known titles like Tekken 3 and Crash Bandicoot for me.

He even rented out pirated movies too, lol. This guy had it figured out.

  • Why would you even complain about that in the first place?

People tend to think that “forced diversity” is something being pushed from the top, but the people who own Hollywood are literally paying money to the right wing who limits diversity.

My personal belief is that there are simply a lot of homosexuals and trans people in the art world. Whether it be make up artists, actors or screenwriters, i think aaaaall of this is a lot more normal amongst creatives than it is among the regular population.

So obviously, its gonna show up more in movies and shows, than in real life. Because the people making the art knows these actual people.

People tend to forget when watching a movie, that just like when looking at a painting, they are in fact watching someone else art, and they are welcome to just not look at it, or find artists that more aligned with their bigoted views.

  • Ours is just a little over 100 years old now, and even back from the start, the building won some prize, i dont know what its called but something like best building made in copenhagen from recycled materials in 1918.

We also had own bathrooms, both toilet and showers, from the start. Most other buildings around here had it installed in the 80s.

And many other buildings also had backhouses that were eventually demolished to make room for common areas, where ours had the foresight to never build one.

Oh, and of the 250 apartments, about 70% are still owned by the same families who came together and built the building. That means that when the laws around pricing in andelsboligforeninger changed, people here chose to keep the old low prices.

“I might be able to become a Millionaire today, but then my 3 children would all need millions each to own a home” has been the consensus around here since then. (a million dkk is about 140.000$)

I am very proud that the families all came together around that decision before my time. Its literally one of the only places in Copenhagen where a normal person can own a home without millions in debt.

  • I live in an andelsboligforening, thats kind of the same i think.

Imagine if an association owned an apartment complex, and the association was owned by the members.

So i dont technically own my apartment, i own a specific part of the association, that is connected with this specific apartment.

We have the same for city gardens called Kolonihave, its actually very common in Northern Europe.
